Worked example
For example: Priya classifies Shift Swap — a shared, notified shift-cover board — as Improve, since covering a shift is already something people do informally by text. Her evidence is moderate: the group-text workaround is strong proof the behaviour exists, but she hasn't yet confirmed the pain is real for anyone but herself. Verdict: proceed to Customer Discovery Kit before committing further.
About this tool
The interactive version of the Copy–Improve–Differentiate Assessment. Classify your idea, answer four evidence questions, and get a deterministic score, a named strongest and weakest area, and one concrete next evidence action — usable anonymously, with no account required.
How the result is worked out
Classify the idea as Copy (a working model applied to a new context), Improve (a specific improvement on an existing, working approach) or Differentiate (asking people to adopt a genuinely new behaviour). Each category carries a different risk profile and needs a different amount of evidence before you commit. Answer four evidence questions — problem evidence, behaviour evidence, differentiation clarity and target specificity — and the assessor combines your classification with those answers into a readiness verdict and a concrete next step.
Who it's for
Founders who want an immediate, structured read on a specific idea.
When to use it
Use once you can state the idea in a sentence and have some evidence to answer honestly.
When not to use it
Not a substitute for the underlying customer evidence — it scores the evidence you already have, it doesn't gather it for you.
